Angel Network
At MID-STATES CAPITAL we have identified the need for a sophisticated Angel Network. It seems that our home state of Michigan has fallen far behind other areas of the country in funding deserving, usually high tech, early-stage companies. There is a growing awareness that the so called "incubator" process often leaves the entrepreneur with a relatively small stake in the business, and by the time they get through the venture capital stage, with little to show for their ideas and efforts.
MID-STATES took on a high tech start up this past year, which we attempted to fund through our usual institutional sources. Along the way, we found it necessary to introduce several "Angels" who have helped that business survive, and now that funding is imminent, should prosper because of the risk they took. That experience has led us to the conclusion that great value can be added by Angels.
MID-STATES will be looking at many early stage companies in order to insure that only deserving opportunities are brought to your attention.
